To Catalyze a Next Step - Big or Small

Yesterday I received a somewhat random email from a spiritual guide and teacher, Sarah Wiseman, I have followed with from her Daily Divine service. She wrote about how we have just made our way through a three week Mercury retrograde that had us all in a hazy stuckness and sense of despair. I find it fascinating how this all makes sense.

I usually read my horoscope as entertainment, but over the past years the intensity and personalization of these messages has made me listen closer to the wisdom being shared. Truth is truth. We recognize it when we see it, hear it, speak it. I know I felt stuck, fogged over, landing on dim ideas that did not seem connected to a clear path. It is no surprise, she explains, as we are, as a humanity, going through planetary and spiritual transition that affects all and everything around us. She said that the retrograde was finally over and that we are now on the brink of a collective shift.

Thanks God. I am definitely relieved, and I laughed later in the day when our political consciousness was forever impacted by a seismic dose of truth from guilty verdicts, indictments, pleas and confessions from top advisors and supporters of the President of the United States. Maybe it is breaking open. Yes, we definitely are convinced we do not belong in that relationship anymore.

I think we are all feeling that shift in our lives and work. We know that we are being called to the task of leadership and responsibility to the whole of humanity and, of course, our stewardship of the Earth and all living things. Another amazing piece of wisdom comes from "We are Made for These Times," an essay penned by author of Women Who Run with the Wolves, Clarissa Pinkola Estes. Do not despair, she says. "Yes. For years, we have been learning, practicing, been in training for and just waiting to meet on this exact plain of engagement." This is what I think, too.

All of my life, from simple struggling childhood, economic and emotional hardship, growth and tenacious curiosity and confidence that brought me to work in Washington DC for the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives...to the recognition that those systems and institutions were broken and not serving our purpose or democracy that led me to quit and search again. There was something else out there that I was supposed to do, supposed to be. It is all part of this knowing, it is all part of our collective journey.

That training brought me here...to this moment, with this amazing recognition of a growing Compassion Alliance and committed energy of evolutionary activism. I see it in the #Wearestillin #projectdrawdown #RightsofNature #ClimateReality #GigEconomy #Pachamamaalliance #basicincome #consciouscapitalism movements (to name just a few). It is in the eyes of the spirit warriors we recognize in our networks, our meet ups, our blog feeds, our conferences and our conversations. It is great to be in this growing tribe of caring, connected humans that are aware that the work we are doing is urgent, necessary and, most of all, possible.

There is a lot in this post, I will leave with a very simple quote from poet, author, spiritual advisor Charles Eisenstein that I have posted on my LinkedIn profile: I am here "To catalyze a next step, big or small, into the more beautiful world our hearts know is possible."

That is my mission. Know that where ever you are, whatever you do, you are part of it, too.
